Previously, Mark co-founded Climb Real Estate and grew it to being one of the top brokerages in the US. It developed a reputation as an innovative, tech-forward, and new generation real estate brokerage. Mark led the strategy and development of Climb since its inception in 2006 as a sales group, later as an independent brokerage in 2010, and through to the successful acquisition in 2016 by NRT, the nation’s largest residential real estate company.
Mark was also a real estate Top Producer and ranked in the Top 5 selling agents for condo and loft sales in San Francisco. Mark also served as co-chair of the SF Association of REALTOR’s MLS and Technology committee for two years and served on numerous customer advisory boards including Zillow and Trulia and other real estate technology companies.
Prior to starting Climb, Mark was a vice president in Citigroup’s CTO office where he actively evaluated technology innovation for Citigroup’s businesses. Mark also founded a dot-com startup (Gecko Travel) in Greater China focused on online travel and worked as lead product manager in a startup developing neural network-based fault-detection systems for computer PC boards.
Mark earned his Masters Degree with a specialty in the fields of Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence, pattern recognition and computational finance — the statistical modeling of financial data, as well as wireless network engineering. Mark was awarded two patents: one in the field of telecommunication and wireless network traffic modeling and another in the field of wireless location based services and credit card fraud detection.
